A syndicate of teachers at a primary school in Cheshire is celebrating after winning a cool £1 million prize in the Lotto Millionaire Raffle game. The syndicate, which is led by 43-year-old teaching assistant Julie Connaughton, comprises 30 staff from the Simms Cross Primary School in Widnes. Julie discovered the win just before the Easter holidays, but because the day on which she broke the news to the rest of the syndicate was the 1st of April, everyone assumed that she was trying to prank them for April Fool’s Day.
