Maine Suspends Multistate Lottery Ticket Sales

Retailers in Maine have been forced to suspend the sale of multistate lottery tickets due to the state’s failure to meet contractual obligations. The statewide shutdown, which will affect the sale of Powerball, Mega Millions, Hot Lotto and Lucky for Life tickets, follows an announcement from Governor Paul LePage that all non-essential services would be brought to a halt as Maine, gripped by financial crisis, finds itself in a state of civil emergency.
