The hunt is on for the winner of last Saturday’s €5.4 million Irish Lotto jackpot, after National Lottery officials confirmed that the lucky player bought their ticket at Dublin Airport. The jackpot had climbed past €5 million after seven straight draws without a winner, but one ticket holder finally managed to break the sequence of rollovers just before Christmas. They have 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward, and everyone who played the game at Dublin Airport has been urged to check their tickets. The Quick Pick ticket was bought on Friday, in the WHSmith shop in the arrivals area of terminal one. Dermot Griffin, the National Lottery’s CEO, said: "This was one of the busiest days of the year in arrivals and the ticket could have been bought by somebody coming home for Christmas, by a friend or relative meeting a loved one, or an airport worker. This is going to be a very special Christmas indeed for that lucky person."
