A deal that will see the Irish Lottery being operated by a consortium going under the name of Premier Lotteries Ireland Limited (PLI) has now been finalised. It was originally expected that the agreement to operate the lottery would be completed by the end of last year, but a variety of hold-ups prevented that from happening. The deal to purchase the lottery licence for €405 million was concluded at the end of February, and the transition to the Irish Lottery coming under the complete operational control of PLI should take place over the next year or so.
