The Euromillions draw on Friday 10th August 2012 saw the official biggest ever Euromillions jackpot won by a single UK ticket holder. The jackpot, which was capped at its highest ever figure of €190 million, equated to a UK sterling equivalent of £148.6 million. This made it the second biggest UK jackpot, due to the current exchange rate. The honour of scooping the largest UK sterling jackpot is still held by Chris and Colin Weir, who won £161 million (equal to €185 million) in July 2011. This is the seventh time this year that the Euromillions jackpot has been won by a UK player, making the UK the luckiest lotto nation in Europe this year!
