The EuroJackpot was launched in March 2012 as a second pan European lottery to rival the Euromillions. The first draw took place on 23rd March 2012 with seven countries participating, which included Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Finland, who hosts the weekly draw in Helsinki. On 1st February 2013, Iceland, Croatia, Lithuania and Sweden also joined up, making the EuroJackpot larger than the Euromillions, in terms of participating countries.
