Suspicions of fraud have been raised after China’s Welfare Lottery draw was delayed on Sunday 25th January, with results and winner information eventually being released in the early hours of Monday. The lottery blamed a breakdown in the transmission of sales data to Beijing, but a complaint has been made to China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, suggesting that the amount of tickets purchased should have had no bearing on the drawing of the lottery.
