A Belgian player became the second EuroMillions jackpot winner in two draws on Tuesday 10th April, matching all five main numbers and two Lucky Stars to bank €17 million (£14.8 million). The success comes just four days after a Swiss player, from the German-speaking area of the country, pocketed CHF89.4 million (€76.1 million/£66.4 million). Before this week’s double whammy, there had only been three EuroMillions jackpot winners in the first three months of 2018. Players from the UK and Spain shared €177.7 million (£155.5 million) to break the duck for the year on Friday 23rd February, with a Portuguese ticket holder scooping €61.5 million (£54.6 million) on Tuesday 13th March. The fact that a player won on the 13th March could be a good omen for players hopeful of sealing a hat trick of jackpot successes this week, as the next draw lands on the traditional day of bad luck, Friday 13th. The date will actually turn out to be a lucky one for 13 UK EuroMillions players, who will each win £1 million in a special UK Millionaire Maker draw.
