One Spanish lottery ticket won the EuroMillions jackpot last Friday night, giving the lucky owner a jaw-dropping prize of €190 million. That equates to £170.8 million at current exchange rates, making it the biggest jackpot – at least in sterling terms – since the EuroMillions game began in 2004. The EuroMillions results on Friday 6 October were 01, 09, 15, 19 and 25, along with the Lucky Star numbers 01 and 07. With all seven of the numbers drawn falling within the ever-popular ‘birthday numbers’ range of 01 to 31, it was perhaps surprising that only one ticket succeeded in matching them, but that scenario will no doubt have delighted the sole winning player in Spain.
