Finnish Syndicate Collects Record €90 Million Eurojackpot...

Postby » Tue 08 May 18, 12:20

The lucky syndicate which won Finland’s largest lottery prize has come forward to claim the €90 million Eurojackpot prize dating back to Friday 9th February, bringing months of speculation to an end. Veikkaus, Finland’s national lottery provider, had announced straight away that the all-important ticket had been sold in Loimaa, in the south west of the country. The game had been split into five shares but was not linked to a registered Veikkaus card and there had been worries about whether the winners would collect their prize. Having now visited the head office this week, the players revealed that they had just decided to take a bit of time to let the news sink in first, and were keen to keep a low profile. There were four players in the group, and they had taken one share of the game each before splitting the fifth between them, making them all €22.5 million richer. Veikkaus spokeswoman Pipsa Öhman said: “We are delighted and relieved that the winners were found and the millions found their home.”
